PH.D GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP AVAILABLE IN THE AREA OF BLACKBERRY GENETICS AND GENOMICS FALL 2024 ADMISSION


One research assistantship is available at the University of Florida's new Plant Breeding Graduate Program https://programs.ifas.ufl.edu/plant-breeding/ in Dr. Zhanao Deng's breeding program https://gcrec.ifas.ufl.edu./gcrec-facultystaff-directory/zhanao-deng/. it is for Ph.D. level graduate students in the area of blackberry genetics and genomics for fruiting habit, berry size, and chilling requirements. The award will be available for Fall 2024 with a possibility of starting earlier in summer 2024. The assistantship includes a competitive stipend and tuition. The students will be expected to conduct blackberry research at the UF's Gulf Coast Research and Education Center https://gcrec.ifas.ufl.edu/ in the Tampa Bay area.

Applicants must have an M.S. Degree in plant breeding or a related field, have a strong research background in plant Genetics, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. All applicants must also qualify and be admitted through the UF/IFAS Plant Breeding Graduate Program https://programs.ifas.ufl.edu/plant-breeding/graduate-program/
